The museum is located at the port. Duringthe last years, the museum has undergone an extensive restoration and now appears as a point coastal museum. The museum houses a large number of objects and photographs that show Karmøys past as an important fishing center. Furthermore the museum tells about the contact between the West of Karmøy and America. The northern sea house is one of the few cast herring tanks that are still intact.
